The Detroit Local Section of the American Chemical Society will be hosting a chemistry-themed scavenger hunt at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan coinciding with our CERM meeting. Participants will search for chemistry-related information found among the many historic attractions included in the 80-acre village. Come see Edison’s original chemistry (!!!) laboratory! Watch artisans demonstrate their craft and share the history of glassblowing, weaving, printing, sculpting pottery, and working with tin. After the friendly competition ends, prizes will be given to the top competitors (and consolation prizes for the others).
Please note that this is an outdoor event with lots of walking on partially unpaved roads or sidewalks. The event will occur regardless of the weather, so please dress appropriately. We recommend both comfortable walking shoes and an umbrella (for rain or as portable shade)!
